Big THANKS!

Jimsssteeeeeel

i really enjoyed our Event the other night.  I just to give a huge thank you to all the BUMMMMMperformers and to everyone that made it down.   I loved how everyone in the audience participated with questions and the general lovely vibes. A great turnout and a super friendly atmosphere really helped make the night.  So thanks again!

Sam Small set the pace by smashing his poems out the park. He was then joined by Mick Clocherty to tell us all about the glorious High Flight Fanzine.

Michael Cobley did a great reading before the break, so good in fact that he sold out of books!   It was a true pleasure meeting Mike and I’m sure we will be seeing more of him.

11054696_10155356781635188_1399243740_oThe brilliant Cat Hepburn set up our second half with some amazing poems, the only person I know that uses the word choad (chode?!) with true grace.  Keep your eyes peeled and get along to Cat’s new website to find out where she’ll be next.  Honestly, you’ll love her!

We had the privilege of having Jim Steel come down and tell us about Interzone Magazine; a real education.  We were also treated to some original fiction were Jim got into full character (Check out up top for Jim’s sweet ass hat).  Totally charming and brilliantly delivered.  Looking forward to reading some more of Jim’s stuff!

adadadaAdam Millard made the trip all the way up from Wolverhampton, and I’m delighted he did. He gave a reading from Larry which was just hilarious!  It was like no other reading I have ever seen before, and I mean that in the best way possible. So thanks to Adam and I hope you enjoyed Glasgow as much as we enjoyed having you 🙂 I’ll be reading Vinyl Destination over the next few weeks and hopefully get Adam to answer some questions for us.

So until next time, thanks again, we’ll be seeing in a couple of months.

Cheers to Lauryn James for the pics

About thespeculativebookshop

We are two friends who are into speculative fiction and decided to start up a bookshop distro/blog Our "bookshop" will be running DIY book fairs throughout the year - the only constant being that there will be pints, books, graphic novels and guest speakers. When we're not doing that we'll be blogging about sci-fi and speculative fiction.
